Terms – House Washing

Although we deliver amazing service and think you’ll be amazed by your sparkling home, there are a couple of things we’d like to point out. We think you’d like to know this upfront rather than having questions for us later. By accepting the proposal attached to this email you are accepting these terms.

House washing refers to cleaning from the exterior of the gutters to the ground. In cases where a second level is above a first level roof, sections of the roof may be cleaned inadvertently and there is nothing we can do about this (it is usually not noticeable from the ground however some people may prefer to pay to have the rest of the roof cleaned to match). It also includes;

  • verandah/patio posts and railings and the underside of ceilings (a 30cm gap is usually left around ceiling fans and simply wiped with a wet brush to prevent water ingress to the motor).
  • window hoods / awnings

House washing does not include;

  • roofs.
  • any fences / gates attached to the house or otherwise.
  • deep cleaning of any flat surface such as decks, paved or concrete surfaces (the get washed off but not with high pressure).
  • exterior of rainwater tanks.

Our cleaning methods may reveal imperfections in surfaces that were not visible prior to cleaning. Heavy build up of mould and dirt may be hiding other problems such as cracks, oil or rust stains, wood rot, flaking or missing paint. In some circumstance the removal of a stain – such as staining from red dirt – may not be possible or practical due to the nature or location, and replacement or repainting may be necessary. Some weather/chamfer board homes present the challenge of debris or fine dust continuing to drip down from gaps in weather/chamfer boards after we have finished and left the property. We will walk around the property and check for this prior to leaving however cannot return for these minor imperfections.

Please secure all doors, windows, screens, light globes, remove all furnishings and items from around the property, remove vehicles from driveways and other personal property prior to our arrival. Failure to do so may limit our capacity to deliver the highest quality service or may lead to damaged property for which Spark Exterior Cleaning cannot be held liable. Please read our ‘How to Prepare’ document in the Spark Knowledge Base

Ensure that all persons, children and pets are away from work being performed on your property.

Our services do not include the removal of vegetation such as vine growth on walls (such removal usually results in damage to the property).
